the year of unexpected beauty
I'm about as good at keeping new year's resolutions as Taylor Swift is at keeping a boyfriend.
I last about a week. Then, I give in to junk food or swearing of whatever necessity I falsely believed I could live without, and then i'm back on my BS. This year, however, I finally followed through.
At the beginning of 2017, I set out to capture moments of unexpected beauty.
What I mean by unexpected beauty is like...that moment when you're in the middle of doing life and something in particular catches your eye and you're like, "yo that's weirdly pretty" (i.e. looking in the mirror sometimes), and you kind of just admire it for a second before going on with the rest of your day. I tried to stay away from the obvious subjects, like the sunset or flowers, which are lovely, but they're expected. Here are some of my favorite little moments from this year:
With 2018 on the horizon, i've decided to continue this resolution into next year and build onto my collection. I'm super excited to keep this going, so if you'd like to keep up with me and my journey, click on the button below to check out my VSCO journal:
In 2018, please do yourself a favor and take second glances at the things around you. Look up, look down, and let yourself be overwhelmed by the seemingly underwhelming. Treat yourself to the ordinary things this new year and, of course,
